TERRANCE “TERRY” E. PHIPPS, age 68 of Grand Rapids, MN died Sunday, March 25, 2012 at his cabin at Spring Lake, MN. Terry was born in 1944 to Kenneth and Mary Phipps in Boone, Iowa. He grew up north of Chisholm, attending schools in Hibbing, MN, graduating from Hibbing High School in 1963. Terry served four years in the U.S. Navy. In 1972, he graduated from Bemidji State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in social studies. Terry was united in marriage to Jacqueline Forsberg on June 13, 1970 in Hibbing, MN and they made their home in Grand Rapids. He retired in 2003 from Blandin Paper Company after working there for 28 years. Terry enjoyed many hunting trips with friends and spending time at his cabin.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents.

Terry is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jacqueline “Jackie”; two daughters, Jennifer (Edward) Sekula of St. Michael, MN and Holly Phipps, and her son Mason, of Buffalo, MN; two sisters, Leigh (Jon) Spears of Spring Branch,Texas and Linda Norley of Boone, Iowa; one brother, Terrill “Fatsy” (Faye) Phipps of Chisholm, MN; 14 nieces and nephews.

There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Friday, March 30th from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Rowe Funeral Home and burial with full military honors will be Saturday, March 31st at 11:00 at Itasca-Calvary Cemetery.
