Barbara F. Mammen, age 71, of Cohasset, Minnesota passed away peacefully at her home on January 2, 2025.

Barbara Fawn Mammen was born June 21, 1953 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, the daughter of Barbara Louise (Carter) and Walter T. Johnson.   Barb grew up in Grand Rapids and was a 1971 graduate of Grand Rapids High School.  On April 22, 1972, Barb was united in marriage to Joseph A. Mammen in Hugo, Minnesota.  They made their home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and in June 1979, moved back home to Cohasset, Minnesota.

Barb was a proud mom and truly was an outstanding grandmother to her two granddaughters, Alexis and Abrianna.  Together, Barb and Joe enjoyed making new friends and traveling together. Barb was an incredible creative lady – always having a craft project in the works.  She enjoyed sewing clothing for Barbie dolls, painting ceramic decorative items, and making and selling Dream Catchers to name a few.  Barb was also known as the "Plant Lady!"  Barb cared for many house plants, succulents, and flowering plants.  She had a way of nurturing them to grow for years and years.  Some of her house plants Barb received from her grandmother and some were very unusual as they originated in other countries.

Barb will be deeply missed by her husband of 52 years, Joe Mammen; their son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Jolene Mammen and granddaughters, Alexis Mammen and Abrianna Mammen all of Thief River Falls, MN; her sisters, Terri Erickson of Nashwauk, MN and Sharri Johnson of Keewatin, MN; her brothers, Wally (Jean) Johnson of Chandler, AZ and Bill Johnson of Grand Rapids, MN; other relatives and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents," Walt" and "Bobbi Lou" Johnson.

A celebration of life to honor Barb will be held at a later time.
