Betty Anna Manginen, age 90, of Grand Rapids, MN passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Grand Itasca Hospital, Grand Rapids, MN.

Betty was born in 1935 to Ernest and Geneva Washburn in Hill City, MN.  She graduated from Hill City High School.  Following high school, she moved to Minneapolis and worked in retail.  She returned to the Grand Rapids area and worked as a seamstress.  On May 23, 1975, Betty was married to Carl Manginen.  Betty later went to work for the library for Greenway High School and then the Grand Rapids Public Library.  She was an active member of the Trout Lake Community Center, 4-H, and served as president of the American Legion Auxiliary for the State of Minnesota in 1995.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Geneva Washburn; her husband, Carl Manginen; daughter, Susan Jordan; son, Dale Jordan; grandson, Jeremy; sister, Carol Ott; and brother Ernest Washburn, Jr.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Linda Schumacher of Grand Rapids, MN, and Diane Jordan of Leander, TX; two sons, Greg (Vickie) Jordan of Grand Rapids, MN, and Thomas (Brenda) Jordan of St. Paul, MN; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, MN with a luncheon to follow at 4:30 PM at the American Legion, 9 NW 2nd St., Grand Rapids, MN 55744.  Burial will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Macville Cemetery, 60700 U.S. Hwy 169, Hill City, MN  55748.
