Beverly J. Karels, age 69, of Grand Rapids, MN died Friday, September 15, 2023, at Essentia Health Miller Dwan, Duluth, MN.

Beverly was born in 1954 to August and Mary Schultz in St. Paul, MN where she grew up and attended school. She graduated from Park High School in Cottage Grove, MN in 1972. On July 28, 1973, Beverly and Charles Karels were united in marriage and together they had three sons, Greg, Randy, and Tim. Beverly worked a variety of jobs in sales but her favorite was owning a dog grooming business. In 2006, she moved to the Grand Rapids area to be closer to family.

Beverly enjoyed many craft projects, excelling in ceramics and cross-stitching, and enjoyed diamond dots later in life.

Preceded in death by her parents; son, Randy; brother, Robert Schultz; and sister, Darlene Schultz.

She is survived by her sons, Greg (Tracy) Karels, Tim Karels; brother, Dan (Sharon) Schultz; sisters, Virginia Schultz, Shirley (Dennis) Dieman; three grandchildren, Jada, Cameron, Eric; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 12:00pm at Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, followed by the 1:00pm memorial service. Burial will be at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Cemetery, St. Paul Park, MN on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 11:00am.
