Carol Marie Hoopman, age 84, of Grand Rapids, MN passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Carol was born in Minneapolis, MN in 1939 to Verner and Idell Hubbard. She moved to Effie at the age of 12 and attended a one room classroom before she graduated from Deer River High School. She was united in married on June 15, 1957, to John Hoopman in Effie. Carol was a stay-at-home mom with her kids before starting to clean houses. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, feeding birds, and her family, especially the importance of the gathering as a family. Those who knew Carol would know her as loving, caring, being soft and gentle, and her great faith and her daily walk with the Lord she served; intercessing on behalf of her children and grandchildren.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband, John; two siblings, Vernadell McKinney, and Verner Hubbard Jr. She is survived by her children, Debbie (Rob) Nalder, Becky (Jim) Peterson, Dottie Hoopman, Ron (Doreen) Hoopman; brother, Jim Hubbard; honorary sister, Waneta Hoopman; 17 grandchildren, Allen, Michael, Kelsi, Seth, Mary, Lisa, Jamie, Steven, Kalab, Andrea, Nathan, Ryan, John, Lee, Amy, Derek, and Marlesa; 44 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and many cherished and beloved nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Solid Rock Church of God in Grand Rapids, MN at 10:30 AM with a service to follow at 11:30 AM. Reverand Mary Fultz will be officiating. Burial at Wildwood Cemetery in Cohasset will be at a later date.
