Casey David Hynek, age 34, of Grand Rapids, MN died Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Essentia Health – St. Mary's in Duluth, Minnesota with his family at his side.
Casey was born in 1991, the son of Corey David and Bobbi Jo (Andrews) Hynek in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. He attended school in Coleraine, MN and graduated from Greenway High School in 2009. Following his education, he became an Electrical Line Worker – IBEW Local #160. He was proud to follow in his father's footstep with his vocation and became a third generation Electrical Line Worker. Casey took great pride in his work and strived to always be available and to be the best at his job – he worked countless hours and was always the first to respond to a storm call not only in Minnesota but throughout the United States.
Casey met Bre just after high school in 2013 and they built a life together. Their children, Owen David (age 9) and Ari Marie (age 6) were the result of a strong loving connection. He took great pride in teaching Owen and Ari about nature – including crappie fishing in the summer, walks in the woods, bird hunting in the fall and sitting in the stand during deer season. Casey truly enjoyed being an avid outdoorsman. Spending time at the cabin in Wirt, MN with his children and family and taking rides on the Ranger where some of his favorite pastime activities.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Jim Andrews.
Casey will be forever loved and missed by his children, Owen and Ari Hynek; the love of his life and the mother of his children, Breann Madden; his parents, Bobbi and Corey Hynek; his sister and brother-in-law, Madison and Jordan Lyons; his grandparents, Joyce and Wayne Johnson and David and Linda Hynek; aunts and uncles; cousins and many loved ones.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025 beginning at 10:00 AM at Cohasset Community Center, 305 NW 1st Avenue, Cohasset, Minnesota with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM at the community center.
