Obituary

Charles Grove "Chuck" Ridlon, age 83 of Grand Rapids, Minnesota died July 17, 2026, at Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital.

Chuck was born on January 9, 1943, in Cohasset, MN to Albert and Bertha (Rosenbauer) Ridlon. He attended Cohasset and Grand Rapids Schools. He was united in marriage to Sandra Carlson, and together had three daughters, Debbie, Becky and Traci.

Chuck served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, operating heavy equipment and bulldozing the terrain impacted by agent orange. Following his honorable discharge, he returned home and continued as a heavy equipment operator for many years.

Chuck enjoyed hunting and fishing, visits to the casino, and spending time with Elaine, his partner of 26 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Bruce Persig, sister Joy Mae Slifer; grandson Bradley and granddaughter Nicole.

Chuck is survived by his daughters Debbie Ridlon, Becky (Wolfgang) List, Traci (Ray) Lombardi; partner Elaine Paulley; grandchildren Maxine, Samantha, Ricky, Jenny, Nicholas and Michael; 17 great grandchildren (one deceased).

Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Wildwood Cemetery, Cohasset, MN. Retired Pastor David Nelson will officiate.
