Chester "Chet" H. Miller, age 102, longtime Grand Rapids, MN resident died Sunday, January 12, 2025, at The Emeralds at Grand Rapids.

Born June 25, 1922 in Chicago, IL, he was a son of Herbert Arthur and Flora Watt (Sinclair) Miller. After graduating from high school, Chet enlisted in the United States Army where he served from 1943 to 1946 and was stationed in Anchorage, AK. He set up grocery stores in Alaska and then moved to Grand Rapids and managed for many years Glenn's SuperValu and Gordy's SuperValu. Chet was very active in church, helped others on projects and visited shut-ins. Chet married Lorraine Marie Erdman on June 14, 1942 in Chicago, IL.

Chet is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Flora Miller; loving wife, Lorraine; son, Randy Miller; brothers, Robert, and Herbert Miller; and sister, Ruth Howard.

He is survived by his daughters, Cynthia (Doug) Christy, Sandra Lofgren, and Tammy (Ron) Meuwissen; grandchildren, Christopher (Jennifer) Christy, Ashley Rossi, Luke Lofgren, Becky Miller, Pamela (Steve) LaFrenier, and Stacey (LeeRoy) Bangert; great-grandchildren, Teagan, Finley, Kullen Christy, Booker Rossi, Alex, and Emily Forrett, Addison LaFrenier, and Dalton, and Brittany Bangert.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 10 AM at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 735 NE 1st Avenue, Grand Rapids, MN followed by the 11 AM funeral service and military honors. Burial will be at Itasca-Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MN.
