Obituary

Curtis Wayne Wilson Sr., age 76, of Bovey, MN, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at his home.

Curtis was born in 1949 to Donald and Vivian Wilson in Grand Rapids, MN. He attended Deer River High School until he was drafted into the United States Army. He served during the Vietnam war and was honorable discharged in 1972. He then returned to Minnesota where he began working. He was united into marriage on May 9, 1970, to Barbara Vernig. They lived in the Twin Cities area and moved to Rush City after the children's graduation. They later moved to the Grand Rapids area to help family. Curtis worked as an electrician throughout his life before working at White Oak Casino, retiring in 2015. He loved being outdoors to hunt, fish, and golf. His family meant everything to him, and he spent all the time he could with them. He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh.

Curtis is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Robert Keller. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara; children, Martha (Blake) Grossmann, Angela (Michael) Hill, and Curtis (Jessica) Wilson Jr.; sisters, Patricia Hudek, Penny Kelly, and Sherie (Al) Heiking; brothers, Bruce (Bonnie) Keller, and Richard (Marilyn) Keller; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, with one more on the way.

Full military honors will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 1:45 PM at the Moose Lodge in Grand Rapids, MN followed by a Celebration of Life from 2:00-5:00pm.
