David M. Jones, age 89, of Grand Rapids, MN passed away Friday, October 31, 2025, at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth, MN.

David was born in 1936 to Frank and Zelma Jones in Wilder, ID.  He attended school in Idaho prior to entering the U.S. Army on December 26, 1959.  While in the U.S. Army, David was educated with additional schooling and worked in various areas including advanced first aid and for the adjutant general postal service where he handled mail security.  On June 17, 1963, David was united in marriage to Rosalie Severson in Ocean Port, NJ.  They made their home in Billings, MT before moving to Mountain Home, ID.  In 1970, David moved his family to Grand Rapids, MN where he worked for Blandex, which later became Potlach.  David retired in 1999.  He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, the "place", and people.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rosalie; son, Glen Jones; his brothers, Frank and Paul Jones.

David is survived by his two daughters, Cynthia (John) Pierson of St. Paul, MN and Lorena Hiesler of Superior, WI; one son, Paul (Pat) Jones of Bemidji, MN; 4 grandchildren,  Sophia (Tyler) Sandberg, Simon Jones, Brittany (Steven) Winkler, and Timothy Coyle; two great grandchildren, Sawyer and Rosalie Winkler; and many nieces, nephews, "in-laws', and "out-laws".

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM at Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, MN with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  Rev. Vicki Taylor will officiate.  Burial with full military honors will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine, MN.
