Delores Marie "Cookie" Handsuch, age 83, formerly of Hill City, MN, died Friday, October 10, 2025, at Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital, Grand Rapids, MN.

Delores was born in 1942 to Norbert and Elva Beckers in Lawrence Lake Township, MN. She worked for many years as an accomplished seamstress. In 1974, she was united in marriage with Stanley F. Handsuch in Sioux Falls, SD. She enjoyed baking, canning from the garden, fishing, quilting, sewing, crocheting, and crafts of all sorts. She loved gardening, especially flowers. Cookie also enjoyed visiting with friends and attending bible studies.

Cookie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley; brothers, David and Bert; sister, Valerie; and grandson, Isaac Heil.

She is survived by her sons, Dan (Julie) Speikers, David (Melissa Doolittle) Speikers, and Duane (Lisa) Speikers; stepchildren, Lawrence (Edith) Handsuch and Patti (Troy Summers) Heil DeLuca; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Joseph (Stephanie), Devin, Alec, Samantha, Ethan, and Grace; one step granddaughter, Chiara; two great-grandchildren; sisters, June (Richard) Schultz, and Loretta Ahola; brothers, Norman Beckers, and Raymond Beckers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Assembly of God in Hill City, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Lisa Jordan officiating. Committal services will be held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery-Duluth on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
