Dennis Jalmer Lake, age 78, of Grand Rapids, MN, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital surrounded by his family holding his wife's hand.

Dennis was born May 1, 1946, to Jalmer and Norma Lake in Medford, OR. He was raised in Menahga, MN and moved to Grand Rapids in 1961, where he graduated in 1964. He met Virginia "Faye" Bird that same year and they were married May 14, 1965. He built their home north of Grand Rapids in 1971. Dennis had many jobs in Grand Rapids, but for 33 years he was at Blandin Paper Mill until he retired at the age of 55. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a part of a pool league at Arbo Store. He loved spending time with his grandchildren - especially making homemade pizzas and building a fort in the woods. He was also a lifetime member of Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Jalmer and Norma Lake; and son, Larry Lee Lake. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Virginia "Faye" Lake; son, Douglas (Amy) Lake; daughter, Barbara (Michael) Wokasch; sisters, Kathy (Denny) Yurrick, and Brenda (Daniel) Komppa; brother, David (Peggy) Lake; grandchildren, Rilee Wokasch (John Fabish), Trevor (Chloe) Wokasch, Joshua (Chrissy) Lake, Jeremy Lake (Meagan Trutsch), CJ (Tess) Lake; four great-grandchildren; and countless family and friends.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 10 AM at Assembly of God Church in Grand Rapids, MN with a funeral service to follow at 11 AM. Burial will follow at 3:30 PM at Meadow Apostolic Cemetery in Menahga.
