Dennis Alan Nolette , age 69 of Grand Rapids, MN passed away on September 27, 2022, at Essentia Health in Deer River.

Dennis was born on April 30, 1953, in Grand Rapids, MN to Jennie and Alden Nolette. He graduated in 1971 from Grand Rapids High School. He attended 3 years of College at UMD pursuing a degree as a history professor. Health issues interfered with completion of that.

He married Laurie Bartick on September 14, 1985. Together they raised 3 children. He spent many years as assistant manager of Grand Mart East (Lucky 7) before going to work for Blandin Paper Company as their guest house manager. He retired from that job in October of 2021.

Dennis had many passions in life- he loved reading. Especially history of the world, art history, science fiction, JRR Tolkien; fantasy. He was passionate about all forms of art-especially drawing, painting, and calligraphy. He loved music and collected a large variety of it, with the exception of country music. He loved his flower gardens and planted beautiful pots of impatiens every year. He loved eating and making great food. One of his favorite past times was to take long drives in the country, visit the woods, and have a cheeseburger at Effie Café.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Douglas Nolette. He is survived by his wife of 37 years- Laurie. Daughters Angie (Gary) Williams & Jayne Nolette. Son, Christian Nolette.  Grandchildren, Austin, Landon, Lily, Olive, Ryder, Emre, and Esme. Brothers David (Donna) Nolette, Ron (Jill) Nolette. Plus other "Daughter" Amber Ugrich. Several nieces and nephews and many great friends. He lived his life for his family and will be greatly missed.

The family of Dennis would like to thank all the nurses and doctors at Essentia Health Hospital in Deer River for their exceptional care during his last week of life.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 8 ^th from 1pm-3pm at the Forest Lake Restaurant Steakhouse in Grand Rapids, MN.
