Diane Christine Jackson, age 87, of Grand rapids, MN went home to the Lord on the afternoon of July 1, 2024.

Diane was born on February 10, 1937, to Elmer and Ruth (Humphries) Carlson in Waukegan, IL where she grew up. After high school she took a job working as a secretary for a utility company. Diane was married to Richard "Dick" Jackson on June 6, 1959, in Waukegan. They lived briefly in Waukegan and Morris, MN prior to moving to Grand Rapids in 1961. Diane worked a number of jobs including part-time teller at the First National Bank, Mesaba Aviation, United Power Association, and Pleasant Seasons before retiring in the early 1990's. She was honored to get a turn carrying the 1996 Olympic Torch in Grand Rapids. Diane enjoyed dancing, plastic canvas weaving crafts, knitting, bingo, reading, jigsaw puzzles, and ceramics. She spent many years in Lakeland, FL and returned to Grand Rapids in 2014. In her later years, she could be seen tending her garden at Pine Ridge Apartments during the summer months growing flowers and tomatoes. She was known for her kindness, generosity, loving her family and her green thumb.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Richard, after 56 years of marriage; her parents; and her brother, Richard Carlson.

She will be greatly missed by sons, David (Carmen) Jackson of Grand Rapids, and Daniel (Genelle) Jackson of Little Falls; grandsons, Joshua (Bethany) Jackson of Aurora, and Jacob (Amanda) Jackson of Holmen, WI; granddaughters, Lily Jackson, and Molly Jackson; and great-grandchildren, Elijah and Ellie Jackson.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Grand Village and St. Croix Hospice for their kindness and wonderful care.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 10 AM at Grand Rapids Alliance Church, Grand Rapids, MN followed by the 11 AM funeral service with Pastor Erik Kling officiating.
