Diane Lee Smith, age 93, of Grand Rapids, MN, passed away, November 14, 2024, at Grand Village, Grand Rapids, MN.

Diane was born May 13, 1931, in Denver, CO and grew up in California. Due to her late husband's occupation, she lived in many different states along with the Philippines. She had a variety of jobs throughout her adult life, the first one being a mother of four children. She was a waitress, housekeeper for a casino in Cripple Creek, CO, telephone operator, and a nursing assistant. She moved from California to Northern Minnesota where she met Shirley Bundy. She moved in with Shirley and she became a family member. She loved animals, Skittles the dog, and Corey the parrot. She loved reunions and making peek-a-boo dolls. Can't forget her baking pies. She loved minced meat ones.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents; and a son.

She is survived by two daughters and a son.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Grand Village Chapel, Grand Rapids, MN.  Rev. Paul Haddix will officiate.  Burial will be in Itasca-Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MN.
