Diann Michele Suoja

Diann Michele Suoja, age 61, of Jacobson, MN, completed her journey Friday, September 4, 2026, at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth, MN.

Diann was a beloved wife, mother, gram, daughter, sister, and friend and she will be deeply missed. She was born on March 29, 1965, to Douglas and Donna Olds in Fairfax, VA. When Diann was still an infant, the family returned to Grand Rapids, MN where she was raised. She graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1983. On May 18, 1985, she was united in marriage to Tim Suoja and they made their home in Jacobson, MN. Together, they shared the responsibilities of managing their own general contracting company for 36 years. During that time, Diann also managed Wendigo Convention Center, Golf Pro Shop, and Restaurant for several years. She was simply the best at whatever she attempted. Diann was a best friend and spouse to Tim and the person who made every day feel full of purpose. She had a great passion for her flower and vegetable gardens. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father, Douglas; her grandparents, Bill and Marie Benzing; father-in-law, Toivo Suoja; brother-in-law, Bobby Suoja; and a nephew, Todd Suoja.

Diann is survived by and will be deeply missed by her best friend and husband, Tim; children, Brett Suoja and Duane Suoja; her special grandchildren, Madison, Carson, Emily, Landon, and Lincoln; her mother, Donna Olds; and her sister, Darla (Rob) Rima; and many nieces and nephews.

Diann’s memory will be always carried in the hearts of many.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM at Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, MN with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Pastor Paul Haddix will officiate.
