Donald "Donnie" Ray Namchek, age 68, of Grand Rapids, MN passed away Monday, June 23, 2025, at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth, MN.

Donnie was born in 1956 to Russell and Alberta Namchek in Grand Rapids, MN where he attended school and graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1974. Donnie was employed with Miner's Grocery Store, starting while still in high school until his retirement in 2018. He was a lifelong member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids.

Donnie loved hunting, crappie fishing, the Minnesota Twins, the Minnesota Vikings, watching westerns, and spending time with family. He also enjoyed taking care of and training dogs.

He is preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Christopher Serfling.

Donnie is survived by his sisters, Rebecca (Tom) Mock, Debra Loop, Mary (Leigh) Serfling; brothers, Russ, Bobby (Tina Kane), Ron, and Brian (Amy) Namchek; special dog and companion, Goldy; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Grand Rapids, MN with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM at the church.  Rev. William Zeige will officiate.  The burial will be at Itasca-Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MN.
