Donovan "Don" Bentley, a member of the Grand Rapids community passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the Americare Lodge in Grand Rapids at the age of 79.

Donovan was born June 20, 1945, in Bemidji, the son of Elmer and Ruby Bentley. After completing his education at Hibbing High School, he dedicated years to construction and road work.

Don had a deep love for raising Airedale Terriers and his sled dogs, a testament to his adventurous spirit and connection with nature. He was also known for his interest in western shows, which he enjoyed throughout his life. In his leisure time, Donovan found joy in playing cards.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Donovan is survived by his sons: Charles (Tammie), Brian, and Nathan (Trish); grandchildren: Aryanah, Austin, Abbey, Alex, Steven, Kristina, Patricia, and Mitch; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters: Sandra Roberts and Vicki (Jack) Thronson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service will take place at a later date and time.
