Dwayne Herbert Mann, 89, of Cohasset, MN passed away on October 31, 2025 with family at his side.
The eldest of six boys, he was born on April 28, 1936 in Good Thunder, MN to Herbert and Alice Mann. Dwayne married his high school sweetheart and dance partner for life, Bernardine "Bernie" Gibeau, on May 26, 1956. Together they raised five children: Gayle Howell of Northport, AL; Marlene Crowe (deceased April 12, 1988); Linda Wright of Laconia, NH; Keith Mann of Cohasset, MN; and Rachelle Ashey of Canterbury, NH. He is survived by six grandchildren: Travis Crowe; Christopher Wright; Heidi (Crowe) Anderson; Joshua Wright; Julia (Ashey) Bartolotti; and Emily (Ashey) Gravenhorst; nine great grandchildren, several bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren, and his brothers Roland "Rollie" Mann and Gary Mann.
He is preceded by his parents, brothers Dale Mann, David Mann, and Ronald Mann, daughter Marlene, and his devoted wife, Bernie.
Dwayne graduated from Grand Rapids High School, Itasca Community College, and Bemidji State College. A highly effective and respected educator, he spent his entire career teaching fifth grade at Cohasset Elementary School, where he also coached wrestling. Dwayne was an active member of the MN Beef Grower's Association, Farm Bureau Insurance, and the MN Polled Hereford Association. He raised prize-winning Polled Herefords, and later Red Angus cattle.
Dwayne and Bernie enjoyed taking dance lessons of various styles, including Ballroom, Square Dance, Round Dance, and Clogging. They enjoyed performing extensively with their clogging groups, both in Minnesota for nearly 40 years, as well as in Texas.
Following retirement, Dwayne and Bernie spent 17 years dividing their time between their farm in Cohasset, and their winter home in Harlingen, TX. They frequently traveled to make memories with their children, grandchildren, and extended family. Dwayne's most memorable trips were to Germany with his cousin Erv Bade, whom he loved like a brother.
The family would like to express their immense gratitude to the management and staff at Sugar Brook Villa for the extraordinary care they gave to Dwayne; as well as the entire staff at St. Croix Hospice for the exemplary care they provided to both Bernie and Dwayne, and support for the entire family.
A Mass of Christian Burial honoring both Dwayne and Bernie will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Cohasset, MN with a visitation one hour prior at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery, Cohasset, MN.
