Edna M. Rasmussen, age 107, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at herhome at Garden Court Chateau, Grand Rapids, MN.

Edna was born in 1916 to Albert and Magdelena Schack in Eldridge, IA. She was raised in Grand Rapids, MN with her four brothers and two sisters. Edna and Leslie Rasmussen were united in marriage on March 2, 1940. They had 4 children, Marian, Dorothy, Richard, and Dale.

Edna is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leslie in 1978; infant daughter Dorothy in 1944, son, Richard in 2015; six siblings; and longtime companion, Orville Carrigan in 2011.

She is survived by her daughter, Marian (John) Meyer of Dubuque, IA; son, Dale of Inglis, FL; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, July 10, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, MN followed by the 2:00 PM funeral service. Pastor Vicki Taylor will officiate. Burial will be at Itasca-Calvary Cemetery.

Edna's message to her family and friends: "My kitchen is closed. The oven is off. No more homemade from scratch wholewheat bread, pull-a-parts, Hershey's brownies, pumpkin bars, or assorted cookies. Lemon, coconut cream, and apple pie eaters can no longer stop for a slice. The morning coffee pot has gone dry. The world's problems will be solved by others. Thank you for being there for me and sharing life's ups and downs."

Edna requested no flowers, she's growing her own!
