Edward R. Holmberg, age 95, of Cohasset, MN died Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital, with his dear friend by his side.

Ed was born in 1930 in Minneapolis, MN where he grew up and attended school. After school he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War from 1951 – 1953. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Minnesota and attended business school. Ed worked as a mail carrier in Minneapolis for 23 years, retiring in 1982. He moved to the Grand Rapids area in 1989.

Ed loved his pet parrot, Pepper, having her for over 38 years. He loved to watch old classic movies and going out to eat and visiting with his friends.  He was a car enthusiast, buying a new car every few years.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Herbert Holmberg. He is survived by his very best friends, Dan and Melisa; nieces, Robin and Kelly; and their families.

A private family service and military honors will be held at Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, MN with burial at Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
