Elizabeth "Betty" Wallene, age 77, of Grand Rapids, MN passed away peacefully Monday, June 19, 2023.

Betty was born in 1945 in Quincy, MA to Charles and Constance Richardson. She graduated from Grand Rapids High School. Betty and Marvin Wallene were united in marriage on May 30, 1964 and made their home in Grand Rapids. Betty attended Itasca Community College before moving to Florida and Michigan due to Marvin's time in the Air Force. They returned to Grand Rapids and Betty was employed with Blandin Paper Company for 36 years.

Betty enjoyed traveling and playing cards and was a member of the Good Sam's Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Marvin. Betty is survived by children, Benjamin (Debra) Wallene, Karla (Tom) Ylitalo, both of Grand Rapids; sisters, Carol (Bob) Smith of Perry, IA, Peg Christensen, of Grand Rapids, Coni Richards, of Putney, VT; grandchildren, Brady (Natalie) Greiner, Hannah Wallene, Briana (Zach) Grandia, Connor Wallene, Jessie (Jon Benson) Ylitalo, Reed (Lori) Ylitalo; great grandchildren, Jane, Daxton, Jedd, Jocelynn, Asher, Adriana; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Grand Rapids, followed by the 11:00 AM funeral service. Pastor Peg Christensen will officiate. Burial will be at Harris Cemetery, Grand Rapids.
