Ella M. Lilgreen, age 90, of Anoka formerly of Babbitt Minnesota, died May 31, 2026 at her residence at Plaza Gardens in Anoka, Minnesota.

Ella Marie was born March 30, 1936, the daughter of Eda (Hince) and Ralph Rahier in Lambert Township near Oklee, Minnesota along with her three brothers and one sister.  She attended school and was raised on the family farm.  As a young woman, Ella was a waitress at Mickey's Café in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

On December 8, 1956, Ella was united in marriage to Oddle 'Barney' Lilgreen in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

Ella and Barney made their home in Babbitt, Minnesota where Ella was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and the St. Joseph Circle.  She was an active member of the Babbitt V.F.W. Auxiliary #7539, serving as the Auxiliary President for two years and later as the Auxiliary Chaplin.  She was also a member of the American Legion Post #535 in Babbitt.

Ella was preceded in death by her husband, Oddle in 2024; her parents; and her siblings, Willard Rahier, Leonard Rahier, Richard Rahier, and Donna Burt.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 10 AM Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Rowe Funeral Home, 510 NW 1st Avenue, Grand Rapids, with a visitation beginning at 9:00 AM.  Father Blake Rozier will officiate the service.  Interment will be in Itasca Calvary Cemetery in Grand Rapids, MN.
