A gathering with family and friends will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. memorial service at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Grand Rapids, MN with Rev. Dr. Patrick Lovejoy officiating.

Eugene Grover, 76, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at his home in Grand Rapids, MN.

Eugene Lawrence was born September 24, 1947, in Perham, MN the son of Earl and Letha Grover. He attended Perham High School and then earned his associate degree from Staples Technical College in Staples, MN. Eugene proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, a testament to his unwavering dedication and service.

Eugene was united in marriage with Renee Krueger on August 29, 1970, in Perham, MN. Eugene embarked on a fulfilling career journey, working at Blandin Paper Company until his well-deserved retirement in 2005. He also held close ties to the community as a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church and the esteemed American Legion.

A man of many talents, Eugene was renowned for his mechanical prowess, and expert construction skills, leaving an indelible mark wherever he went. Known for his passion for fishing and hunting, Eugene found solace and joy in the great outdoors. He had a saying for everything, and a nickname for everyone.

Eugene is survived by his son Craig (Rebecca) Grover; daughter Heather (Michael) Angell; seven grandchildren: Rachel, Aaron, Caleb, Trevor, Caleb, Makayla and Parker; brothers: Ronald Grover Sr., Jim (LuAnn) Grover, and Randy (Lisa) Grover; brother-in-law Al (Laurie) Krueger; sisters-in-law: Pam (Gregg) Western and Connie Krueger; numerous nieces, nephews, and special friend Lynda Alger.

He is preceded in death by his wife Renee, parents, granddaughter Kristine, brothers: Thomas, Howard, and Bob (Ann); sisters: Zelda "Jackie" (Frank) Lachowitzer, Vernetta "Babe" (Clarence "Red") Schattschneider and infant sister Arta Joan.

Rest in peace, Eugene Lawrence Grover, your spirit and warmth will forever be in our hearts.
