Fern V. Johnson, age 101, of Grand Rapids, MN died Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Grand Village surrounded by family.

Fern was born in 1923 to Albert and Nellie Johnson in Webster, SD where she grew up and attended school. After her father's early passing from Tuberculosis, her mother and the family moved to the farm in Hill City. Fern and her sister, Elaine, moved to the Twin Cities and Fern started working at a flour mill and egg factory. Fern later returned to Grand Rapids and worked at Redding's and then Mickey's Café for 31 years until her retirement. Fern was a member of Salem Lutheran Brethren Church where she was active with the women's ministry.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Bertha, Ernest, Cleone, Arthur, Olivia, Alice, and Elaine.

Fern is survived by her son, Greg Johnson of Grand Rapids, MN, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Visitation will be on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Salem Lutheran Brethren Church, Grand Rapids, followed by the 11:00 AM funeral service. Pastor Tony Schmid will officiate. Burial will be at Hill Lake Cemetery, Hill City, MN.
