Gary Lee Gannon, age 77, of Randall, MN passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025, at St. Otto's Care Center, Little Falls, MN.

Gary was born in 1948 to Myron and Thelma Gannon in Grand Island, NE. He attended school at Central School and Grand Rapids High School, graduating in 1966. Gary went on to Itasca Junior College and St. Cloud State University, graduating in 1970 with his bachelor's in education. Gary and Cathleen Childs were united in marriage in 1970 in Grand Rapids, MN and moved to Randall, MN. Gary taught for 38 years and was a substitute teacher for 15 years.

Gary was an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of MN Deer Hunters Association, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever as a youth coordinator, Randall and Little Falls Sportsman's Clubs, and a charter member of Randall JCs and Randall-Cushing Lions. He was also in the Boy Scouts for 27 years, served on the Randall Scholarship Committee, and was a firearm safety instructor for over 39 years. Gary organized many sporting clay shoots, youth pheasant hunts, and camp scholarships to Deep Portage.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents; son, Darin; brother, Duane (Marcia); and brother-in-law, Jarold Dickmann.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cathleen; daughter, Janell (George) Virnig; son, Nathan (Stacey) Gannon; sisters, Rhonda (Naftali) Zilverberg, Sandra Dickmann; brother, Myron (Margaret) Gannon; and five grandchildren, Colin, Kaitlyn, Megan, Evan, and Nicholas.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Randall Presbyterian Church, Randall, MN followed by the 11:00 AM memorial service. Bob Mueller will officiate. Burial will be at Itasca-Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MN at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Gary's name to a charity of your choice.
