Glenn Richard Britney, age 83, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024, in the presence of family at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Grand Rapids, MN.

Glenn was born June 5, 194, in Litchfield, MN. He moved to Aitkin in 1949. He graduated from Aitkin High School where he held the shot-put record for 25 years. Glenn also played basketball, football, and competed in track. He worked for Coast to Coast and then Lutheran Brotherhood/Thrivent for 35 years where he earned many awards and memorable trips around the United States. He was active with the Eden Prairie wrestling team, and active in the Pengilly United Methodist church, serving as AD board Chair, and Trustee at various times, and served on the Executive Board for Star of the North Animal Shelter. Glenn continued attending Eden Prairie football games long after moving to Pengilly, often driving back and forth the same day. He loved keeping his yard, beach, and driveway spotless with daily raking and sweeping. He enjoyed taking the kids and grandkids on the pontoon to their favorite swimming spot, tubing and to fish. He was a member of Lions Club where he loved his "prizes". Glenn moved to Grand Rapids in 2021 and spent his last month at Diamond Willow with St. Croix Hospice providing care. He will be missed for his sense of humor, stories and his love of family and friends.

Glenn is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Homuth; stepfather, Lloyd Homuth; brother, John Britney; and sister, Dawn Shockency. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Charlotte; daughters, Jill Eubanks, and Kelly Denny; sons, Jason Britney, and Peter Britney; granddaughters, Brianna Fief, Mikhaela Denny, Courtney Skarzynski, Alexa and Makenna Eubanks; grandsons, Nicholas and Ethan Ashton; nephew, Colin Shockency; grandnephew, Matthew Shockency; niece, Terri Lane; and other nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024 with a visitation at 10:00 AM and a service at 11:00 AM at the Pengilly United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to: St. Croix Hospice or the Pengilly United Methodist Church.
