Gloria was born in 1931, in Wing, ND to Arne and Ina (Eskeli) Antilla. She grew up on the family homestead in Wing. After her mother died in 1938, her family moved to Lawrence Lake, MN where her father worked at the mines and she helped raise her siblings. Gloria graduated from Greenway High School in 1949.
On September 18, 1954, Gloria married Harold Snyder and that same year, they established their family home, marking the beginning of 69 cherished years of marriage and shared homeownership. She dedicated herself to ISD 318 as a teacher's aide, pausing only to raise her children before returning in 1972, serving for 20 years until her retirement.
