Ira Lou McCartney, of Nashwauk, MN, passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving parents on Monday, February 26, 2024, at Children's Minnesota Hospital, St. Paul, MN.

Ira Lou was born to Tanner and Jacey (Rhodes) McCartney on December 24, 2023, in the comfort of home in Nashwauk, MN.  Ira Lou had a big personality, was feisty and stubborn, and wouldn't stop until she got what she wanted. Ira means "watchful one" and she lived up to her name, watching everyone with her bright blue eyes. Ira Lou spoke her words through the look in her eyes. She enjoyed being read to, enjoying the colors and pictures in the books. She was loved by all those around her.

Ira Lou is welcomed in heaven by Grandpa Gene Dimatteo and many other relatives.

She is survived by her parents, Tanner and Jacey; brother, Brantley McCartney; sister, Finley McCartney; grandparents, Brian and Deborah McCartney and Jodie Dimatteo; aunts, Mallory McCartney and McKenna McCartney; uncles, Dawson McCartney, Jordan Rhodes, and Ben Dimatteo; and many cousins and other loving extended family.

A public visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 12:00 – 2:00PM at Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, MN followed by a private family graveside at Sago Cemetery, Swan River, MN.
