Irene Ruth Salisbury, age 95, of Grand Rapids, MN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital, Grand Rapids, MN.

Irene was born to Delbert and Ruth (Kent) Dawson on November 27, 1928, in Cogswell, North Dakota.

Irene met her husband Doug shortly after WWII and they married soon after.  Irene and Doug raised four sons Mike (Deb), Nate (Lori), Bart (Mary), Ron (Lynn). She was a great mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Irene was a housewife by profession and was very good at it!

"Granny" loved art, knitting, laughing, church, cribbage, flower gardens, and most of all her family.  Her compassion and humor followed her to the end, which was a great gift.  She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband Doug on December 12, 2019; parents Delbert and Ruth, and her two brothers.

Irene is survived by her four sons; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; her beloved cat Louie.

In accordance with Irene's wishes, no formal services are planned.
