Irene May (Nohrenberg) Wilson, age 92, of Grand Rapids, MN, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at the Garden Court Chateau Assisted Living in Grand Rapids, MN.

Irene was born on May 29, 1931, in Pingree, North Dakota.  The family moved to Nimrod, Minnesota in 1937.

In 1949 Irene was united in marriage to Jerald Wilson, and moved to Pengilly, MN in 1951.  Irene was a homemaker and business owner.  She loved to sew, quilt, and read.  Irene did lots of volunteer work and was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Marble, MN. Following Jerald's passing, Irene moved to Grand Rapids, MN where she became active at First Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jerald; parents Lester and Matilda (Fischer) Nohrenberg; one brother and four sisters; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Irene is survived by her four children Shela (Doyle) Cline, Rev. Richard (Peggy) Wilson, Susan (Glen) Newman, and Marvin (Linda) Wilson; 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 7 ½ great, great grandchildren; five step grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 21, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Grand Rapids, MN with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Reverend Dr Patrick Love Joy will officiate. Following a luncheon, interment will be at Nashwauk Cemetery, Nashwauk, MN.
