Jami L. Passig, age 48, of Bigfork, MN, died suddenly Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Bigfork Valley Hospital in Bigfork, MN.
Jami Leigh was born August 24, 1975, in Minneapolis, MN to Dennis and Jeannie (Olson) Terek. She grew up and attended schools in Farmington, MN. During her high school years Jami earned her Certified Nursing Assistance degree from Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount, MN. She then moved to Grand Rapids, MN and graduated with the Class of 1994 from Grand Rapids High School.
Jami met her future husband, Robert Passig, of Hill City, MN, where she would soon after call home with her daughter, Haylee. Jami and Bob were also blessed with a son, Hayden. They later divorced. For the past 8 years, Jami has been in a committed relationship with Jeremy Frye and they have made Bigfork, MN their home for the last 4 years.
During her career, Jami worked for various businesses in Itasca County, including providing daycare for many years in Hill City. Most recently she had been working as a CNA at Bigfork Valley Hospital. Jami enjoyed camping, her dogs Lilly & Hazel, long drives in her car, talking to friends on the phone, trips to the North Shore, and eating out. She absolutely treasured her new grandson Miles, and for the last 2 weeks of her life she became very close and helpful in caring for Miles.
Jami is survived by her children Haylee (Peter) Garsow of Grand Rapids, MN, Hayden Passig of Bigfork, MN; grandson Miles Garsow; sisters Jacki (Francis) Hinke of Farmington, MN, Jodi (Robert) Broking of Grand Rapids, MN; significant other Jeremy Frye of Bigfork, MN and his two children Haley Frye and Lexi Frye; aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Jeannie Terek; grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins and other extended relatives.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Rowe Funeral Home, with a service to begin at 4:00 PM. Mary Shideler will officiate. Interment at Bigfork Cemetery is planned for a later date.
