Obituary

Janine Martin passed away peacefully at home on May 14, 2026, following chronic medical conditions.

She is survived by her daughters, Nikki Kleman and Andrea Kaiser; seven beloved grandchildren; sisters Dawn and Gloria; nephews; aunts and uncle; many cousins; dear friend John Newell; and countless friends, both lifelong and new.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace "Wally" Martin and Claire Martin Spurling, and her brother, Wallace "Marty" Martin.

If you knew Janine, you knew her laugh. It was the kind you could recognize instantly from across a room — loud, contagious, and full of life.

Janine was an exceptional cardiac nurse who cared deeply for her patients and coworkers alike. She had an incredible gift for nursing and could "spot a good vein across the room," something those who worked beside her will never forget.

Outside of work, she loved Motown music, camping, and spending time at the lake. One of her greatest dreams was to have a lake home where she could gather and share time with family, recreating the memories she cherished from her own childhood.

More than anything, Janine loved deeply, fiercely, and without hesitation. There were very few people who met her and didn't want to spend more time with her. She had a way of making people feel welcome, entertained, and loved.

Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace — laughing, dancing, and telling stories that make everyone around her smile.

Love you little, love you big, love you like a little pig, J9.

A celebration of life will be held in Janine's honor, a party, at her request on Saturday, June 20th at the VFW in Mendota, MN from 3-7pm. Food, drinks, and music will be provided and the family invites you to share your memories of Janine.
