Jeanette D. Bishop, 89 of Grand Rapids, Minnesota passed away April 20, 2025, in Hibbing, Minnesota with her family at her side.

Jeanette Darlene Bishop was born June 8, 1935 in Shell River Township, Minnesota, the daughter of Hilda (Torvinen) and Richard Salminen.  Jeanette grew up in Menahga, Minnesota and graduated from Menahga High School before moving to Grand Rapids.

In June 1966, she began working with her parents and her former husband, Douglas Carlson as they established Northside Lumber, Inc. She later worked for several employers before beginning at Anderson Glass where she retired in 2007 at age of 72.

On November 15, 1974, Jeanette married Jerry "Bish" Bishop.  Together they enjoyed spending time outdoors especially on their houseboat and camping with friends. Jeanette truly had a love for bowling until she was physically unable. She always loved her pets especially her recent one, Tiger.

She can be remembered as a "Spitfire" and a classy lady!  Jeanette's middle name should have been "Life Of The Party!" as she was always ready for fun with family and friends.  Jeanette was active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Loyal Order of Moose, holding some offices when she was younger.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry P. Bishop; her parents, Richard and Hilda Salminen; and her beloved dog, Tiger.

She will be deeply remembered by her four children, Richard "Rocket" Carlson, Russell "Rusty" Carlson, Roxanne (Calvin) Cadotte-Speckman, and Gene "Fuji" (Carol) Carlson; grandchildren, Ashley, Travis, Matt, Drew, and Brie; great grandchildren; brother, David "Sal" (Beth); sister, Betty Lou; nephew, Jeff Meyers; former husband, Douglas (Cathy) Carlson; and numerous friends, too many to mention.

A gathering of family and friends to honor Jeanette will be held from 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, MN. A Celebration of Jeanette's Life will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 PM on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the Grand Rapids Moose Club.
