Jeffrey Thomas Ross, age 59, of Pengilly, MN, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Mayo Clinic – Methodist Hospital Campus in Rochester, MN.
Jeffrey was born in 1965 to Bryce and Maureen Ross in De Smet, SD. He graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1983 and attended the University of North Dakota and then University of Minnesota in Duluth, MN. Jeff worked in the family floor covering business and later started his own flooring business, Ross Home Center in Nashwauk, MN in 1999. Jeff was on the board of directors for the North Star Credit Union in Nashwauk, Lone Pine Township, and was also on the church council for Nashwauk Lutheran Church. Jeff was known for giving back to his community and bringing meals to people. He loved to give rides on his side-by-side, spending time with his grandchildren, going on boat rides, especially on the houseboat on Pokegama Lake. Jeff was a man of strong faith.
Jeff is preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, David Ross; father-in-law, William Hansen Jr.; and sister-in-law, Deborah Hansen.
He is survived by his wife, Tracey; sons, Justin (Jessica) Ross of Grand Rapids, MN, and Aaron (Alexa) Ross of Pengilly, MN; sisters, Debra Larson of Shawano, WI, Donna (Patrick) Medure of Grand Rapids, MN, Diane (Glen) Peterson of Hendersonville, NC, and Rochelle (Rodney Neurerer) VanDenHeuvel of Grand Rapids, MN; brothers, Rick (Kandace) Ross of Deerwood, MN, Dan (Mary) Ross of Duluth, MN, and Kelly (Lori) Ross of Grand Rapids, MN; five grandchildren, Aubrey, Oliver, Christian, Oakley, and Onalee; mother-in-law, Mary Hansen of Nashwauk, MN; brother-in-law, Paul (Jamie) Hansen of Nashwauk, MN; sisters-in-law, Wendy (Ron) Mathews of Cohasset, MN, and Amber Carrington of Duluth, MN; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM at Nashwauk Alliance Church, Nashwauk, MN with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM at the church. Pastor John Weiher will officiate. Burial will be at Balsam Cemetery, Balsam Township, MN at a later date.
