Jerry M.
Roquet
d. May 15, 2026
Cohasset
Jerry M. Roquet, age 85, of Cohasset, MN, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Essentia Health – St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, MN.
Jerry was born in 1940 to Clyde and Sadie Roquet in Cohasset, Minnesota. He attended Cohasset Elementary School and graduated from Grand Rapids High School. Losing his parents at a young age created an unbreakable bond with his siblings—a relationship rooted in love, loyalty, and perseverance that helped shape the kind, hardworking man he became.
On March 26, 1960, Jerry married Doreen Dorholt. Together, they shared 57 years of marriage and built a beautiful family filled with countless cherished memories. His greatest joy in life was being surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether sharing stories around the table, enjoying a card game, or simply spending time together, family was always at the center of Jerry's life.
Jerry spent over 50 years as a salesman at Breier's Clothing, where his genuine kindness, warm personality, and dedication to his customers created many lifelong friendships. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, taking on various side jobs and projects throughout the community.
A true outdoorsman, Jerry found his greatest peace in the North Woods. His passion for whitetail deer hunting was more than a pastime—it was a lifelong tradition and a connection to the land he loved. He treasured early mornings in the deer stand, the anticipation of the hunt, and the memories made with family in the woods. He also enjoyed camping, bowling, playing cards, and countless games of cribbage with his kids.
Jerry was a man of faith. During the challenges of his health journey, his trust in Jesus became renewed and unwavering. He was a founding member of Community Bible Chapel in Cohasset and faithfully served the church in many capacities over the years, including on the building committee, as an usher, and as a member of the church board.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doreen, in December 2025; his siblings, Kenneth (Olli) Roquet, Dorothy (Roy) Wourms, and Ellie (Ed) Krug.
He is survived by his children, Carrie (Jay) Gieseke, Jill (Michael) Sjoberg, Tami Roquet, Jeri Lyn (Richard) Lyons, and Paul (Misty) Roquet; his grandchildren, Sara (Alex) Nordhagen, Kayte (Cody) Nelson, Megan Sjoberg, Jon Roquet, Jennifer Roquet, and Christopher Sjoberg; and five treasured great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Community Bible Chapel on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by an 11:00 a.m. memorial service. Burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery in Cohasset.
Jerry's legacy is one of faith, family, friendship, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his generous heart, his stories from the deer woods, and the love he gave so freely to those fortunate enough to know him.
