Jill Marie Troumbly, age 58, of La Prairie, MN, died Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Essentia Health in Deer River, MN.

Jill was born on November 13, 1966, in Grand Rapids, MN, to Raymond and Betty (Gamache) Troumbly. She grew up in Taconite, MN, and attended Greenway Public Schools. She enjoyed volleyball, cheerleading, and especially softball with Suzy, Jody, and Sandy, plus the rest of her teammates. She attended McConnell Travel School in 1988. In 1990, Jill got married to Michael Meyer and eventually had three children plus a stepdaughter. Jill heavily carried the trait of having to be a busy-bee. She enjoyed working at the Locker Room, Cub's Food, Ground Round, and the Eagles. And if she wasn't working, she was cleaning, cooking, baking, or mowing the lawn. She also carried a deep love for Christmas, a season that perfectly matched her giving nature. Mischief was her treasured riding horse, with whom she won consecutive trophies at the Itasca County Fairgrounds. One of her favorite dishes to cook was her mother Betty's soup. She also loved to bake Grandma Ethel's sugar cookies. Of course, one of her favorite things to eat was Grandma Betty's famous beans.

Jill was fond of going to the great White Oak Casino with cousin Snuff. A true fan through and through, Sundays were reserved for cheering on the Vikings, no matter the score, and the long winters were spent following the Minnesota Wild, in which she always made sure to color her nails to the colors of the teams. Her three children were what she was most proud of. When her first and only grandson was born, she made sure to visit him every day. He was the reason she fought so hard to live. One of her greatest joys in her life was her beloved dogs, Bella and Scruffy. Among the many little things that made her who she was, everyone knew she had a special place in her heart for Mountain Dew. She always wore bright colors that reflected her bubbly personality, such as neon pink and purple. As an avid Facebook user, her number one shared post was lost animals that she always wanted to help find their way home. Jill's humor was like no other. Her laughter was contagious, her sense of humor quick and genuine, and her ability to make others laugh was a special part of who she was. Even towards her last days of life, she was making others laugh. If you needed someone to talk to, she would, if it was just for five minutes or over an hour. Throughout her battle of cancer, she faced every challenge with courage and grace. Even on the toughest days, she showed incredible resilience. Her life was a reflection of her deep faith. She found strength and peace in prayer and shared the love of Christ with those around her. Her unwavering belief in God carried her through life's trials.

Jill is survived by her three children and one stepdaughter, Noah Meyer of Louisville, CO, Toby Meyer of Grand Rapids, MN, Mandy Meyer of Grand Rapids, MN, and Dayna Ciarfalia of Phoenix, AZ; grandchild, Calum Meyer; dogs, Bella and Scruffy; grandpups; Dude and Onyx; siblings, Art (Judy) Troumbly, Rebecca (Gary) Murphy, Michael (Debra) Troumbly, Derek (Joanie) Troumbly, Patrick (ShalyMar) Troumbly, Darren Troumbly, Daniel Troumbly, Joel (Molly) Troumbly, Jason (Svetlana) Troumbly; 34 nieces and nephews, 82 great nieces and nephews, and 26 great-great nieces and nephews; aunt's; Jeanette Troumbly, Barb Troumbly - and other extended family members.

Jill was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond "Shorty," in 1997, and Betty, in 2024.

A visitation will be held Friday, August 22, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Grace Gospel Church, Taconite, MN followed by the 2:00 PM funeral service. Rev. Lance Edminster will officiate. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine, MN.

One request of Jill's when it came to her funeral was not to worry about wearing proper black clothing; instead, wear anything you feel comfortable in that carries colors, or just casual attire.
