Joann M. Gould age 81, of Grand Rapids, Minnesota passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Garden Court Chateau in Grand Rapids.

Joann May Gould was born in 1944 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, one of five daughters of Anna Katherine (Kopp) and Nels Peter Hyen.  She was raised on the family farm in Raby, Minnesota.  Joann graduated from Hill City High School in 1962.

Joann met Darrel Gould as a young man in the Jacobson/Raby area and on September 14, 1963, they were married.  Together they raised one daughter, Tawnia. Throughout her working years, she worked for various companies doing data entry and clerical work.

Joann and Darrel enjoyed spending time together.  They had a houseboat on Pokegama Lake where they spent most weekends and holidays in the summertime.  Together, they also enjoyed traveling with the motorhome.  Her most favorite pastime was reading.  Following her retirement, Joann volunteered at the hospital.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Darrel; two sisters, Joyce (Rich) Perrin and Elaine (Al) Lotter; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Joann was preceded in death by her daughter, Tawnia; and two sisters, Delores Kortekaas and Darlene Bullock.

A Celebration of Joann's life will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, June 9, 2025 at the Grand Rapids United Methodist Church with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 10:00 AM.  Private interment will be held at Harris Cemetery.
