Joseph "Joe" Carlson, born March 17, 1950, was loved by his family and friends unerringly. He passed away June 15, 2025, and is already sorely missed by his heartbroken family.

Joe is survived by his wife and best friend Karol Carlson; son Klinton Carlson whom he loved more than anything; grandsons Lucas Carlson (his bud), Diesel Carlson, and Remington Carlson whom he loved dearly and meant the world to him; dear sister Mamie (Bob) Shick; brothers/sisters-in-law Cindy (Ken) Ryan, Karen (Larry) Sele, Jerry (Jackie) Olson, Allen (Patti) Olson, Judy (Bruce Blomquist); many nephews and nieces.

Joe grew up in Shovel Lake, MN, and attended school in Remer, MN. After continuing his education in Bemidji, MN Joe worked in construction, management, as a police officer, well drilling, and as a chef.  He enjoyed working and the people he worked with. After various moves he resided on the family farm in Cedar Valley, MN.

Joe enjoyed spending time with family and trying to keep up with all of Karol's projects, hunting, fishing, working in his garden, and was always so proud of his massive pumpkins and squash. But his passion was collecting, and the thrill of hunting for the next big treasure. Keeping many of these treasures and selling/trading at flea markets. The world will not be the same without him!

A visitation will be held Friday, June 20, 2025, at 12:00 Noon at Rowe Funeral Home Chapel, Grand Rapids, MN with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 PM. Reverend Mary Shideler will officiate. Interment will follow at Lakeview/Windy Lake Cemetery in Smokey Hollow Townhip, Cass County, MN.
