John Ewald Sadlowsky, age 82, of Grand Rapids, MN, went to his eternal home on Wednesday, November 15, 2023.

John Sadlowsky was born in Upsala, MN to parents Ewald and Louise Sadlowsky. He married the love of his life, Ruth Schwinghamer, on June 16, 1961 in New Brighton, MN. They had three daughters named Dawn, Louise, and Lisa. After some time, they relocated to Grand Rapids, MN where John made a living working with his hands creating and doing carpentry work. He was passionate about sharing his knowledge and helping others with strength training and fitness. After vacationing in Kauai, HI, John and Ruth fell in love with the area and decided to make Kauai home for 16 years before returning to Grand Rapids. They resided at Lakeshore place and attended First Lutheran Church. In his leisure time, John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking delicious meals with family and friends.

John is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Mabel Gunderson. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughters, Dawn (Rick) Slager, Louise (Dick) Sobtzak, and Lisa (Scott) Pittack; sister, Mae (Roger) Volk; grandchildren, Sadie, Ella, Ezra, Samuel, Joseph, and Joanna; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Logan, River, Olivia, Eleanor, Calvin, and one more on the way; and numerous extended relatives.

John's family sincerely thanks both Majestic Pines and St. Croix Hospice, along with countless others for their compassionate care, love, and support in his final days.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids with a Prayer Service led by Rev. Patrick Lovejoy beginning at 7:00 pm
