On Thursday, April 4, 2024, one of Josephine's greatest wishes came true-to be joined with her loving husband, Kenneth, who passed almost 42 years ago.  Josephine A. Meyer, a dedicated teacher, passed away at Home and Comfort Assisted Living, Coleraine, MN. Josephine chose to donate her body to the University of Minnesota Anatomy Bequest Program, ensuring that her legacy as an educator would live on.  Through her selfless gift, Josephine continues to inspire and educate, even in passing.

Josephine was born in 1941 to Carl and Louise Swanson in Grand Rapids, MN.  She graduated from McGregor High School in 1959 and St. Cloud State Teacher's College in 1963.  On August 23, 1965, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Meyer.  Josephine was employed as a elementary teacher with Mesabi East School retiring in 1997.  She loved traveling in her RV.  Josephine was a member of Carmel Lutheran in Jacobson, MN and St. Mark's Lutheran in Palo, MN.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, Edwin Swanson; and an infant brother.

Josephine is survived by many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Friday, August 2, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Lakeview Cemetery in Coleraine, MN
