Kathleen L. Marok, age 99, died on November 25, 2023 at her daughter's home in Dubuque, Iowa with her family at her side.

Kathleen was born April 14, 1924 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, the daughter of Elmer and Luella (Francoeur) Madson and lived here all of her life, with the exception of approximately six years when she attended college and then worked for TWA Airlines in Ohio.  She married Daniel Marok in 1947.

She was a columnist ("Out of My Mind") for the Grand Rapids Herald Review for twenty-three (23) years, then for the Senior Reporter.  She also was an active member of the Third Order of Lay Carmelites, the National Catholic Society of Foresters, and St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and was involved in Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life and Birthright as well as other civic organizations.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Marok, her son, Michael Marok, great granddaughter, Quinn Renae Bartholomew, and son-in-law Kenneth Bergman; her siblings: Elmer Madson, Elaine Sydik, Ardis Ellis, Marilyn Grandl, and Terry Madson.  She is survived by her children:  Teresa (Jerry) Ganser, Marybeth (Mark) Wagner, Patricia (John Lewis, friend) Bergman, Rebecca (Mark) Cieslewicz, Thomas (Pam) Marok, Robert (Blanche) Marok, and Jeanette (Greg) Smith, twenty-six (26) grandchildren and forty-two (42) great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Kathleen Madson Marok will be on Friday, December 1, 2023 at noon at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior to the funeral. Father Blake Rozier will be officiating.  Interment will follow at Itasca Calvary Cemetery in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
