Kathryn Veronica Block, age 93, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Autumn Lane Assisted Living, Cohasset, MN.

Kathryn was born in 1932 to Edward and Veronica Raymond in Onamia, MN where she attended school, graduating from Onamia High School in 1951. Kathryn and Chester Block were united in marriage the same year in Minneapolis, MN. They moved to Warba in 1963, buying Knotty Pines Resort. Kathryn and Chet went on to own and operate several businesses in the Grand Rapids area, including 1st Car Wash, King Koin Laundromat, and Wings N Willow Art Gallery.

Kathryn and Chet loved to winter in Florence, AZ during the winters. She was active in a sewing club and served as township secretary in Feeley for 12+ years.

Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chet; daughter, Sandy Schuetz-Mathre; son, Doug Block; son-in-law, John Schuetz; and granddaughter, Nicole Block.

She is survived by her daughters, Pam (Doug) Leppanen, Jenny (Jim) Berkeland; son, Steve (Robin) Block; daughter-in-law, Barb Block; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, February 6, 2026, at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Grand Rapids, MN followed by the 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be at Warba-Feeley Cemetery at a later date.
