Kay Leone Cartwright, age 68, of Coleraine, MN passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Grand Village in Grand Rapids, MN.

Kay was born in Grand Rapids, MN on June 15, 1955, to Calvin and Betty Jo (Maness) Byers. Growing up in Grand Rapids, Kay graduated from GRHS in 1974 before marrying the love of her life, Mike Cartwright, on October 6, 1978. As a devoted homemaker and mother to her two daughters, Kay's love knew no bounds.

Kay's passion for music filled her home with joy, her love for reading immersed her in countless stories, and her favorite spot at Country Kitchen always brought a smile to her face. Her love for animals and the outdoors was evident in her daily walks with her dogs and the welcoming presence she had for neighbors and neighborhood kids alike.

Known for her quick wit and good sense of humor, Kay's legacy lives on through her husband, Mike Cartwright; daughter, Misty (Paul) Roquet; grandchildren, Jonathan and Jennifer Roquet; brother, Steve (Mark) Byers; and sister, Kim Montague. Though she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rae Cartwright; parents, Calvin Byers and Betty Jo Erickson; and brother, David Byers; Kay's memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her.

In honoring Kay's wishes, no formal services will be held. Instead, her family will celebrate her life and legacy in their own special way.
