Kay Frances Kruger Tobias, age 85, of Ironton, MN, formerly of Warba, MN passed away Friday, August 7, 2026, at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center, Crosby, MN.

Kay was born in 1941 in Currie, MN to Emil and Frances Ketelboeter.  She graduated from high school in Currie, MN.  Kay was united in marriage on June 10, 1961, to Virgil Kruger who later preceded her in death in 1988.  They made their home in St. James, MN for 2 years, and then moved to Richfield in 1963.  In 1972, they moved to Northfield, MN before making their home in Warba, MN in 1977.  Kay worked as the night auditor for the Sawmill Inn in Grand Rapids, MN for many years.  In November of 1997, Kay was united in marriage to Archie Tobias.  Kay and Archie owned and operated Heirloom Urns.  She was an active member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Warba, MN.  She loved to sew, watch Jeopardy, solve "Sudukee" puzzles, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Frances; husband, Virgil Kruger; husband Archie Tobias; son, Gregory Kruger; brothers, Raymond "Sonny", Richard, and an infant brother, Patrick Ketelboeter; sister, Louise "Sis" Fischer and an infant sister, Irene Ketelboeter.

Kay is survived by two daughters, Carrie Kruger of Warba, MN, and Brenda Wiley of Wawina, MN; one son, Shane (Terrie) Kruger of Ironton, MN; one sister, Lucille Olson of Mankato, MN; one brother Joseph (Sandra) Ketelboeter of Annandale, MN; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; many extended family members; and her special cat, Squeak.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Grand Rapids, MN with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 AM at the church.  Fr. Blake Rozier will officiate.  Burial will be at Warba-Feeley Cemetery, Warba, MN.
