Larry S. Bonaventura, age 85, of St. Anthony Village, MN, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Diamond Willow, Grand Rapids, MN.

Larry was born in 1938 in Hibbing, MN to Lawrence F. and Wilma Bonaventura. He attended Grand Rapids High School, graduating in 1956, and later graduated from Bemidji State College in 1962. On June 9, 1962, Larry was united in marriage to Mary Ann Fraser at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Grand Rapids, MN. They made their home in St. Anthony Village, MN.  Larry served in the U.S. Army National Guard Reserves from 1962 until 1963.  He worked in the industrial paint industry as a manager and in the sales department. He retired in 2004. During the summers, he enjoyed spending time in Grand Rapids at the family cabin, he was an avid photographer, enjoyed traveling, was a member of the Bloomington Lions Club, and most all he loved spending time with his family.  Larry was a wise and witty man admired and loved by many.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Ann; and a nephew, Jeffrey Petersen. He is survived by his son, Michael (Annette) Bonaventura; daughters, Suzanne (Jim) Ducharme, Catherine Bonaventura (Shane Hauer), and Caroline Bonaventura (Tim Wojtowicz); one grandchild, Blake Ducharme; sister, Pauline Bonaventura Bonn; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Maureen and Pete Petersen; nephew, Greg (Kelli); nieces, Anne and Jean; many dear cousins; and many great nieces and great nephews.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, July 8, 2023, 10 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Grand Rapids, MN with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 AM. Rev. Blake Rozier will be officiating. Burial will be in Itasca-Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MN.
