Larry George Gilbert, age 85, of Grand Rapids, MN passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Americare Lodges in Gand Rapids, MN.

Larry was born in 1939 in Grand Rapids, MN to James and Cleo Gilbert.  He attended the Wendigo School and has been a life-long resident of Little Splithand Township.  Larry was united in marriage to Peggy Struble from 1963 until 1967.  In 1981, he was united in marriage to Patricia (Herschbach) Kujala until her passing in 2022.  Larry worked as a heavy equipment operator for various mines in the Iron Range Area.  He enjoyed logging.  Larry was a member of the American Legion, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Loyal Order of the Moose all of Grand Rapids, MN.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patricia; his siblings; a daughter, Carrie Kujala; and a granddaughter, Isabella Gilbert.

Larry is survived by his sons, Michael Gilbert of Duluth, MN, Ervin Kujala of Baudette, MN, Robert Kujala of Bovey, MN, and Jim (Donna) Kujala of River Falls, WI; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Harris Cemetery, Harris Township, MN.
