LaVonne M. Cook age 87, of Grand Rapids, MN passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at Brookdale North Oaks Sr. Living.

LaVonne was born in 1936 in Shovel Lake, MN.  She was the 5th child of six born to Peter and Ina Waydula.  They moved to Grand Rapids area before moving to Greenway where she graduated high school.

She married Philip Cook on November 15, 1958 in Grand Rapids, MN. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and making crafts.  LaVonne loved life, her family & friends and especially her grandchildren.

She is proceeded by death by her husband, parents, sisters; Irene (Wayne) Weller, Darlene (Gerald) Deming, Lucille (Gerald) Walsh, and Shirley (Dale) Smith. LaVonne is survived by her children; Donna (Stan) Meyer of Linwood MN, Jody (Diane) Cook of E. Setauket NY; brother, Wilford (Marge) Waydula of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Nicole (Rachel) Nelson, Stephanie (Alex) Wagner, Michelle Meyer, Courtney Cook (Matthew Marsich), Joseph (Alexis) Borriello, Ryan Cook, Christian Borriello; great grandchildren, Natalie and Atlas.

A visitation will be at the First Church of God, Grand Rapids, MN on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, beginning at 10:00 AM followed by an 11:00 am funeral service. Pastor Dale Steele will officiate, burial is at Itasca Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's association of Minnesota.
