Lila Marie McKenzie, age 95, of Deer River, MN, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Homestead Nursing Home in Deer River, MN.

Lila was born in 1929 to Elmer and Leila Neuman in Walker, MN. Her first husband was Ted Morency for 25 years. They had two children, Cheryl and Dennis.

Lila was a very feisty and hard-working woman. She was a waitress bar maid bartender and cleaned many houses from here to Colorado. She married Erving McKenzie on April 28, 1973. They were married for 41 years. Lila loved to dance and sing!

She is preceded in death by her mom and dad; two brothers, Roger and Stanley; her first husband, Ted; second husband, Erving; and her son, Dennis Morency. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Leo) Hahn; two step-daughters, Paula (Todd) Snell, and Chris (Bob) Burbie; two granddaughters, Julee (Dave) Thole, and Jodi (Roger) Klampe; five great-grandchildren; 10 great great-grandchildren; along with many nephews and nieces.

The family would like to thank the staff of Homestead Nursing Home and Itasca Hospice for all their care and help!

A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM, Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids, MN with a burial to immediately follow at Itasca-Calvary Cemetery in Grand Rapids, MN.
