Obituary

Lisa Janine Gould was born on May 16, 1962, the fifth child of Robert (Bob) and Virginia (Queenie) Gould. She passed away peacefully in the early hours of June 29, 2025, from cancer. Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, brother Patrick Gould, brother-in-law, Kerry Price, and her beloved dog, Zing.

Lisa grew up in Coleraine, Minnesota and was a member of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Coleraine. She was raised in the faith which served her well throughout her life. She attended Greenway High School where she was a synchronized swimmer and a proud Greenway Raiders Cheerleader. She was a Greenway fan for life! She loved the water, was a lifeguard both in Minnesota and in New Mexico. She taught swimming lessons, and always said she should have been born a mermaid! Lisa headed to Western New Mexico University for college, sunshine, and adventure. After college she worked for American Family Insurance as an adjuster and field trainer in offices in the Twin Cities, Madison, WI, and Fargo, ND. She loved traveling to various places around the country, meeting new people and seeing new sights. Her independence was legendary. For her 50th birthday she traveled solo to Ireland and visited the original Coleraine, a town in Northern Ireland, and of course, swam in the ocean while she was there.

Lisa adopted her brother's yellow lab Zing, after he passed in 2011, and moved back to Coleraine. She and Zing could be seen at the beach daily! She reconnected with her Greenway friends and worked as an aide for pre-school kids in Taconite, a job which filled her heart with happiness. She adored babies and young children and thought people were "fabulous", never meeting a person who did not become a friend. Lisa loved God, her family, your family, dogs, cats, sports, bright colors, and creative art. She loved to plan and celebrate any and all of the life events for family, friends, and co- workers, and filled us with an optimism and passion that will live forever in our hearts. Lisa lived her life well and she will be missed by those who knew her.

Lisa is survived by her sisters Janet Price, Gail Carlson (Kurt) and Valerie Stevens; her nephews Jesse, Ryan & Nick Price, Travis and Kyle Carlson and Michael Stevens; 6 great-nephews, and 3 great-nieces (she called them her" great ones"), many cousins, and her cat, Luchair, which means "joy" in Gaelic. She also leaves behind her dear friends Gary Ranger and his wife Lynn, her "80's Ladies", and many other wonderful friends, who supported her throughout life and especially during her cancer journey. Her family will be eternally grateful for you.
